  • ¼ teaspoon black mustard seed
  • 5 fresh curry leaves
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seed, freshly ground
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2 pinches ground dried turmeric
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons tamarind paste
