  • 12 ounces uncooked spaghetti
  • 1 ½ pounds uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • ½ pound sliced fresh mushrooms
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute shrimp and garlic in 1 tablespoon oil until shrimp turn pink. Remove and set aside.
