  • 1 (16 ounce) garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (16 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 4 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 cup taco sauce
  • 2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups crumbled tortilla chips

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir onion until it has softened and turned translucent, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low, and continue cooking and stirring until the onion is very tender and dark brown, 15 to 20 minutes more.
