  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 4 Roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

  • Heat 1 1/2 tablespoons oil in a large pot over medium-low heat. Add the onions and garlic and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
