  • 1 cup frozen whole kernel corn
  • 1 cup frozen cut green beans
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon adobo all-purpose seasoning (such as Goya®)
  • ⅛ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground thyme
  • 1 pinch dried marjoram, or to taste
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
  • 1 cup water, or as needed
  • 1 tablespoon beef base
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 1 bay leaf, or more to taste

  • Crumble ground beef into a stockpot set over medium-high heat; add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir until beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard any excess grease except 1 tablespoon of drippings.
