  • ½ red bell pepper, diced
  • ½ small onion, diced
  • ½ cup tequila
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

  • 2 pounds fresh mussels, scrubbed and debearded
