  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • ½ teaspoon chipotle chile powder
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 cup loosely packed cilantro leaves, roughly chopped

  • Heat olive oil in a 6-quart Dutch oven over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 1 minute. Add beef and allow to sear and brown until mostly cooked, about 3 minutes.
