  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • 1 cup raisins
  • ⅓ cup shortening
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
