  • 2 pounds yams, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • ¼ cup butter, cubed
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar, divided, or more to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cream
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
  • ½ cup pecans
  • 14 small marshmallows (Optional)
