  • 2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 small onion, roughly chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 ½ cups barbeque sauce (such as KC Masterpiece® Original)
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 8 large sesame seed sandwich buns
  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese
